Gluten-free Cornstarch Fingerpaint

What's needed

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup cornstarch (gluten-free)

2 cups cold water

Muffin tin or small cups

Natural food coloring

Natural flavored extracts

Liquid dishwashing detergent

Let's make it

Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Turn heat on low, add cold water, and stir until mixture is thick. Remove from heat. Divide mixture into four or five portions, spooning into muffin-tin sections or small cups. Add a few drops of food coloring and extracts. If you are certain your child will not be tasting add a drop of liquid dishwashing detergent to each portion to extend shelf life. Stir and let cool before use. Store covered.

When mixing paint, keep in mind the age of your young artist. As a general rule, younger children require thicker paint and brushes. Adjust water as necessary for your child.
