Paper Paste
Papers glued with this paste will dry flat instead of "buckling".
What's needed
9 ounces white dextrin (available at grocery stores in the artificial sweeteners section)
1-3/4 cups water
2 teaspoons sugar
teaspoons glycerin
1 teaspoon alum
candy thermometer
Let's make it
Combine the dextrin and water in the pot. Heat to 140�, stirring constantly. Add the other ingredients and heat until the mixture becomes clear. Let the mixture cool slightly and then pour it into an airtight container. Let cool completely.
