Gluten-free Papier-Mache Paste

Papier-mache paste obviously is great for papier-mache projects, like pinatas. Warm it slightly before using it. It also can be thinned with water and used as a more traditional paste.

What's needed

1 cup corn starch (gluten-free)

1 tablespoon salt

1/2 cup cold water

2 to 4 cups boiling water

Natural food coloring

Natural flavored extracts

Let's make it

Combine corn starch and salt in a large bowl. Next add a small amount of cold water and begin to stir. Keep adding water and stirring until you get a runny slurry. Add food coloring and extracts. Pour 2 cups boiling water into slurry and whisk away. Add more boiling water to get the desired consistency. It will quickly begin to set up. Cool. Add coloring and extracts.
