Flour Clay

A versatile clay that can be baked or allowed to air dry. Children can make thin coils of the clay and intertwine them to make baskets. They can also make "bagels" and other bread look-alikes. Flour clay projects last for years and can be painted after the clay has dried.

1-1/2 cups warm water

1 cup salt

Natural food coloring

Natural flavored extracts

Let's make it

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Use to make relatively thin baskets, decorations, or other projects. Place on a cookie sheet. Air dry for several days or bake at 300� for 1 hour. Refrigerate any unused clay in a plastic bag.
